Look beyond the interface
A task may begin in a message, continue in a document and end with an update to another system. The workflow is the relationship between those steps, not just the screen where someone starts.
Define what good looks like
Before introducing an agent, describe the desired outcome and the boundaries of its work. Identify the information it needs, the actions it may take and the moments that call for human judgment.
Build from a useful slice
Choose a bounded part of the process that has a clear benefit. Bringing research together or preparing a review can be a useful first step. Evaluate the result before extending the workflow.
Preserve the reasoning
As the process improves, keep the context behind the changes. A workflow is easier to maintain when the team understands why its steps exist and what each one is meant to achieve.
